1. Ask questions:
2. Feed other social networks:
3. Encourage participation during major events:
I think here is where I start to show my generation gap. I am very familiar with recent technology but I never really used Instagram until very recently. I really did not understand it. I thought it was mostly a tool for kids to take "selfies". After using it for several weeks I now have come to understand and respect it as an important social media tool. I now communicate with some people through Instagram and share my experiences using Instagram. I do think its a great way for college students to ask questions from their professors or other students. Its also great to be able to send a message using text and a picture. Sometimes a visual would be needed in order to understand the problem. I do also like the connectivity Instagram allows with other social media such as Facebook and Twitter. Where I think Instagram is most successful is in encouraging participation of major events. For example, when the school has a concert, graduation, or major speaker; it can be broadcast to a major audience using Instagram. I think this tool can be used at the high school level.
